About Us

Globally, energy markets are in transition to a net zero future and the entities within these markets are transforming their underlying business models to ensure that they stay relevant, sustainable, and profitable. As one of Australia’s largest energy providers, we are proud of our purpose to lead and accelerate the clean energy transformation for all.

Our ability to deliver on this Purpose will be dependent on how well we transform our energy generation portfolio and optimise our assets to ensure a reliable and sustainable future.

The Team

The Projects group within the Energy business unit is responsible for all phases of project development and execution for new greenfield generation projects and for supporting brownfield project activity within the operational generation assets, nationally.

The opportunity

Forming part of our expanding Energy Projects group in Melbourne, you will work projects occurring at our Mount Piper Power Station in NSW.

As a Senior Project Engineer you’ll be responsible for the development, construction support, leading and coordinating project execution activities and providing advice to assist with the overall execution of these projects.

Whilst this role will be based in Melbourne, there will be some travel required to Mount Piper Power Station, which is west of Sydney, NSW.

Please note: This is initially a 12-month employment contract. There is a strong chance that the role will be extended or made permanent in due course.

Role accountabilities

  • Coordination of major contractor activities and interfaces with the site teams
  • Support the coordination of external project interfaces and stakeholder communication
  • Technical engineering support and coordination of design reviews, technical design documentation, construction and commissioning
  • Support the management of project OH&S, regulatory and environmental compliance and ensure projects meet EA’s project management governance requirements

What are we looking for?

  • Relevant Engineering degree (Mechanical/Civil/Electrical/Chemical/Process etc), ideally coupled with Project Management qualifications
  • Experience delivering relevant engineering & construction projects in complex brownfield settings, such as in Power Stations, Oil & Gas, Water infrastructure etc.
  • Experience in delivery through a range of contract strategies
  • Experience with gated capital stewardship governance frameworks
  • Willingness to travel ad-hoc
