About Us

Globally, energy markets are in transition to a net zero future and the entities within these markets are transforming their underlying business models to ensure that they stay relevant, sustainable and profitable. As one of Australia’s largest energy providers, we are proud of our purpose to lead and accelerate the clean energy transformation. Our ability to deliver on this Purpose will be dependent on our people.

At EnergyAustralia, we believe that strong, respectful relationships with local communities are essential to the success of our projects. Our Community Engagement team plays a vital role in building and maintaining trust by ensuring our engagement practices reflect our values and commitment to best practice. As we progress the proposed Marulan Gas Fired Power Station, just outside of Goulburn we’re looking for a passionate and experienced engagement professional to help us foster meaningful connections with the community and stakeholders.

Community Engagement Lead (18 Month Fixed-Term Contract)

This hybrid role offers the opportunity to be part of a high-impact project team, with regular on-site engagement in Marulan and support from both internal leaders and external consultants. Reporting to the NSW Engagement Lead and working closely with the Project Director, you’ll lead consultation activities through to the anticipated project approval in late 2026/early 2027. With an initial 18-month contract and strong potential for extension, this is your chance to help shape a project that supports Australia’s energy transition while making a real difference in the local community.

  • Coordinate and deliver stakeholder and community engagement activities to support the planning and delivery of the Marulan Gas Fired Power Station
  • Organise and participate in stakeholder meetings, including with residents, schools, community organisations, and government representatives.
  • Design and implement tailored engagement initiatives, including a schools engagement program to build local awareness and support for renewable energy.
  • Maintain accurate and comprehensive records of stakeholder interactions, feedback, and community issues, ensuring traceability and compliance with project requirements
  • Develop and support communication materials such as newsletters, project updates, fact sheets, and digital content to inform and engage stakeholders.
  • Support the project team in delivering social license commitments by ensuring community values, concerns, and expectations are understood and addressed.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate engagement insights into project planning, environmental assessments, and decision-making.
