About Us
At EnergyAustralia, our shared purpose is to lead and accelerate the clean energy transformation for all. We’re making energy simpler and more sustainable for our customers, while building a flexible energy portfolio that meets their evolving needs.

About the Team
The Specialised Businesses team is a multidisciplinary group focused on delivering innovative customer and industry solutions that support the energy transition. Within this team, the Field Operations and Metering Team plays a critical role in driving the retailer-led rollout of smart meters and renewable energy solutions across the National Electricity Market (NEM), specifically replacing legacy meters as part of the LMRP and unlocking value for both customers and EnergyAustralia.

About the role
Our vendors and subcontractors play a pivotal role in EnergyAustralia’s behind the meter strategy leading safety, quality, regulatory, customer service and financial performance. As our Vendor Governance and Performance Leader, you will drive the end-to-end management and governance of all subcontractors and vendors across EA Solar, Embedded Networks and Metering, ensuring all licensing and regulatory standards are implemented, controlled and optimised.

This role is crucial in assessing risks and developing mitigating strategies and processes associated with our smart meter roll out program, so you’ll be working closely with our primary installation partner to drive best practice delivery for our clients combined with the best commercial outcome for EA.

Key responsibilities include, but aren’t limited to:

  • Lead the design, consultation and subsequent implementation of a multidisciplinary ecosystem of business processes and procedures for the holistic management of outsourced vendor operations.

  • Conducting monitoring and surveillance of key vendors against contractual and internal governance requirements.

  • Facilitating relevant Monthly, Quarterly and Annual Business Review processes of contracts and contract performance.

  • Complete a thorough assessment of current obligations relating to Field Operations across metering, embedded networks, Green Transport and Solar, designing and implementing new controls to ensure compliance as required.

  • Design and implement reporting and continuous improvement methodologies to ensure that all HSSE and QA risks are identified and reduced.

  • Liaise and Coordinate with other teams to ensure that specialist vendor monitoring activities which contribute to overall risk, compliance and vendor management are completed.

About You

This is a highly commercial role requiring a mix of vendor management, contract governance and large-scale project / program management experience. Whilst we’d love to find someone with Energy sector experience, we’re open to seeing candidates from other highly regulated industries who have driven performance and delivery from high value contractor partners.

Skills, traits and experiences we’d love to see include:

  • Significant experience in contract management across large-scale, multi-vendor environments (ideally within energy, critical infrastructure or another highly regulated industry).

  • Strong understanding of procurement, legal frameworks, and vendor governance.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex commercial agreements and deliver strong outcomes, including a track record in driving an uplift in vendor capability / delivery.

  • Ability to effectively support large Procurement activities including vendor negotiations and contractual terms that may be complex in nature.

  • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret complex contractual documents.

  • Strong numerical skills with attention to detail, demonstrating a high degree of commercial competence.

  • Knowledge of electrical regulations and standards (including licensing requirements) across multiple states (Solar / smart metering implementation environment).

  • Relevant HSSE / WHS qualifications viewed favourably.
