About the Team
The Product and Marketing Team is accountable for pricing, product management, customer propositions, and financial performance oversight. With a focus on long-term value, the team champions a customer-centric approach in shaping propositions, products, and commercial strategy, ensuring alignment with both business objectives and customer needs.

About the Role
Reporting to the Head of Product and Marketing, the Commercial Performance Leader at EnergyAustralia is a new and crucial leadership role accountable for gross margin profitability and long-term customer growth through development of:

  • Customer propositions that focus on engaging customers through their journey
  • Developing new and managing existing products to appeal to target customer segments
  • Managing long-term and short-term pricing outcomes
  • Driving a performance culture, focusing on aligning action to strategy

Other aspects of the role include:

  • Owning our customer value propositions by customer segment, creating a holistic engagement plan for target segments, ensuring we increase customer engagement and support EnergyAustralia’s strategic objectives
  • Developing and executing our retail pricing strategy, based on a deep and data informed understanding of segment and customer level profitability as well as energy pricing regulations
  • Creating and maintaining energy and non-energy products that anticipate and meet customer needs, deliver economic returns, and are compliant with EA’s various regulatory requirements, while also delivering on EA’s climate transition commitments
  • Delivering revenue (gross margin) targets and long-term customer account growth
  • Ensuring compliance by design across all activities, managing regulatory risk and owning key regulatory compliance obligations

About You
The role requires experience in leading a diverse range of teams, engaging stakeholders across the business, delivering value from advance analytical models, experience combining customer segmentation and business performance data, and a demonstrated ability to build a collaborative team that can work across a matrixed organisation. Other things we’re keen on include:

  • Conceptual and lateral thinker with proven experience leading complex commercial P&L’s
  • Significant leadership experience in product & customer proposition development, especially with understanding of energy or subscription style products.
  • Experience in managing technical and commercial performance in a retail environment with a focus on driving continuous improvement with efficient use of resources.
  • Highly developed stakeholder engagement skills from Board through to front line, including external stakeholders such as regulators.
  • Experience leading a mix of technical and strategy teams, influencing decisions across a matrix organisational structure
