Procurement Lead - Major Energy Projects

About the role 

An exciting 1-year opportunity has just been created within the Energy Projects Procurement team. This role will be pivotal in leading procurement activities and be part of the team that delivers large-scale energy infrastructure projects by working closely with procurement leaders, government representatives, internal stakeholders, and 3rd party vendors to manage procurement requirements and deliver business objectives for projects. 

You will be responsible for a range of activities that include planning, sourcing, negotiating and finalising contracts. 

You will be responsible for

  • Participating in planning activities to identify commercial opportunities 
  • Working collaboratively with stakeholders to develop the procurement and contracting strategy 
  • Managing and leading sourcing activities (Pre-Qualifications, EOIs, RFTs) for various packages of works related to the project 
  • Developing procurement framework specific for the project (where required) 
  • Management reporting on status of procurement activities for internal and external stakeholders 
  • Delivering procurement initiatives that deliver quantitative and qualitative benefits 
  • Ensuring operational compliance to group procurement policy and processes and ensuring good governance through understanding and applying legal, OHS, ethical, sustainable and commercial requirements 

 What we’re looking for 

  • We are seeking someone with demonstrated similar Procurement experience at a “Senior” or “Lead” level
  • A background in the energy, construction, oil and gas industry.
  • Have a proven track record to successfully negotiate EPC contracts or other complex contracting models
  • Familiarity with various contracting models and commercial frameworks.
  • A natural collaborator with exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to influence a broad range of stakeholders
  • Be able to hit the ground running and pick-up activity quickly
