About the Opportunity:

We are seeking a dynamic and commercially minded Portfolio Management Business Partner to join our Strategy & Enterprise Portfolio Management Office (EPMO). This exciting role is pivotal in defining and managing the company's project investment strategy, evaluating business opportunities, supporting capital allocation and execution, and uplifting capability. The successful candidate will be a key member of the EPMO, and will work closely with various business units as a true partner to embed efficient and effective governance, improve delivery confidence, support business unit and enterprise prioritisation, and ensure EA achieves the intended outcomes from its project investment portfolio. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the Enterprise investment prioritisation process, translating strategic roadmaps into investment plans, and monitor risks and opportunities affecting portfolio priorities.
  • Communicate prioritisation decisions, coach business units on investment submissions and valuation, and ensure submissions meet criteria and are well-documented.
  • Enhance capital productivity through disciplined governance, support investment mobilisation, and monitor progress according to commitments.
  • Review financials, schedules, and status reports, risks and dependencies, and proactively support delivery teams to identify and manage risks and opportunities.
  • Provide ongoing proactive assurance and work with external assurance partners as required.
  • Be an active, engaged EPMO team member and contribute to achieve strategic and operational outcomes, evolve governance standards, templates, reporting and practices, and support portfolio tool management.
  • Collaborate with the Transformation Office to ensure alignment with strategic and commercial objectives.

About You:

  • Tertiary qualification in Business, Science, Engineering, Finance, Technology, or related fields.
  • Strong commercial acumen with practical experience in project valuation and benefits validation, writing and reviewing business cases, and the ability to coach and guide others.
  • Extensive experience in portfolio planning including quarterly planning and big room planning concepts, persistent/capacity funded team models, governance, assurance and delivery within large, complex organisations with a focus on agile ways of working.
  • Proven ability to coach and guide project professionals and executives to achieve business outcomes within agreed timeframes and budget.
  • Experience in strategic portfolio management and lean portfolio practices, with understanding of modern delivery methodologies and governance standards.
  • Strong leadership, coaching, mentoring, and advisory skills with the ability to build effective relationships with stakeholders and team members.
  • Superior communication, facilitation, and negotiation skills.
  • Proficiency in portfolio and project management tools, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Jira, Confluence advantageous
