About Us

Globally, energy markets are in transition to a net zero future and the entities within these markets are transforming their underlying business models to ensure that they stay relevant, sustainable and profitable. As one of Australia’s largest energy providers, we are proud of our purpose to lead and accelerate the clean energy transformation.

Our ability to deliver on this purpose will be dependent on our people. Join EnergyAustralia as a Commercial Finance Partner and help shape the future of energy. We are looking for a collaborative and dynamic Commercial Finance Partner to play a key role in driving performance and strategic decision-making across our operations business.

About the Role

As a trusted Finance Partner, you’ll provide commercial insight, financial advice, and forward-thinking support. From setting annual targets and building robust financial plans to forecasting, defining performance metrics, and delivering impactful reporting, your work will help guide critical decisions and ensure we get the most value from our resources.

If you’re passionate about using finance to drive business success and want to be part of a team that's embedded at the heart of EnergyAustralia’s operations, we’d love to hear from you. Some of your key responsibilities will include:

  • Lead, manage and mentor a small team of financial professionals to support our operations
  • Provide financial advice and direction to the Operations executive and Operations leadership team.
  • Provide deep insights into drivers of monthly results against budgets, forecasts and expectations (variance analysis) to the business and finance.
  • Identify and monitor key financial and operational metrics to enable timely and pro-active response to identified trends.
  • Work with the Operations business leads to establish annual budgets and forecasts with key assumptions rationalised, clearly articulated and endorsed.
  • Review and Challenge initiatives within Operations to ensure that business decisions are made with a clear understanding of likely financial outcomes.
  • Define business requirements and structures that allow visibility of spend, identification of waste, business performance improvement, and drive accountability.

How can you support the Clean Energy Transition

To be successful as one of Finance Partners, you will ideally have the following attributes:

  • Tertiary qualifications in accounting, finance, economics or another relevant quantitative degree (minimum)
  • Post graduate qualifications in accounting and/or finance holding current CA/CPA qualifications
  • Previous experience in people management and development
  • Significant experience in finance, including Corporate Finance and preferably within energy, mining, large infrastructure or similar organisation
  • Ability to influence senior stakeholders/challenge the business and drive results
  • Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills
  • Full Australian working rights with no restrictions
