As a Senior Tax Advisor, you will be at the forefront of developing impactful tax strategies, supporting high-value business transactions, and ensuring full compliance with Australian income tax laws. Reporting directly to the Head of Tax, this role offers you the chance to shape key strategic decisions, work on challenging and complex tax issues, and lead compliance initiatives for a major corporate group. It’s an exciting opportunity to make a real impact and drive success at a senior level.

About the Role

As the Senior Tax Advisor you will be responsible for the following key responsibilities:

  • Provide tax advice on significant projects, including new renewable projects, new products, and business growth initiatives
  • Collaborate closely with cross sectional teams to shape major decisions, ensuring tax implications align with business
  • Partner with the Finance team to deliver insightful tax forecasts and budgets, contributing to key business decisions.
  • Stay ahead of evolving tax developments, proactively advising the business on compliance and strategic impacts
  • Lead the review of income tax returns, tax effect accounting, and statutory reporting obligations ensuring accuracy and excellence
  • Provide guidance on international tax developments, tax law changes and other emerging issues relating to each business and provide advice on impacts on a timely basis
  • Drive full compliance with ATO requirements while maintaining audit readiness
  • Identify automation and process improvement opportunities and collaborate with

How can you support the Clean Energy Transition

To be successful in this role, you’ll ideally have the following:

  • Tertiary qualifications in accounting, finance, economics with CA/CPA accreditation / Master of Tax qualification will be highly regarded
  • Minimum 7 years’ relevant experience in either Big 4/mid-tier firms and/or similar roles in large multinational corporate tax environment
  • Strong communication skills with all levels in an organisation, in particular, the ability to communicate complex tax concepts in simple and commercially useful terms
  • Self-motivated, collaborative, and skilled at identifying process improvements and champions tax automation opportunities
