About us

Globally, energy markets are undergoing rapid transformation, and businesses are evolving to meet the challenges of a net-zero future. At EnergyAustralia, we are proud to be one of Australia’s largest energy providers, committed to leading and accelerating the clean energy transformation for all.

Within the Enterprise Risk team, our Regulatory Compliance unit plays a critical role in supporting this transformation. By delivering high-quality compliance frameworks, fostering strong relationships with regulators, and driving continuous improvement, we empower the business to navigate complex regulatory requirements with confidence. Together, we are building a sustainable energy future grounded in trust and accountability.

About the role

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Regulatory Engagement Lead to support the operational delivery of EnergyAustralia’s regulatory engagement, audit coordination, and regulatory change management activities.

Working within the structure of EnergyAustralia’s Compliance Management System (CMS) and aligned to the Three Lines of Defense (3LoD) model, this role ensures effective and coordinated support for regulatory notices, submissions, audits, and external reviews.

As a trusted compliance professional, you will maintain key engagement artefacts such as the Regulatory Compliance Engagement Playbook, ensure visibility and consistency of engagement activity, and provide reporting to meet governance and regulatory expectations.

You will collaborate across Line 1, Line 1.5, and Line 2 teams, engaging with Legal, Regulatory Affairs, Compliance Advisory, Compliance Performance, and key external regulators to ensure high-quality, consistent outcomes. Key responsibilities include:

  • Support the execution of EnergyAustralia’s Regulatory Engagement and Audit Procedure, ensuring regulator notices are logged, tracked, and actioned.
  • Maintain and promote the Regulatory Compliance Engagement Playbook, ensuring tools and templates remain current and applied consistently.
  • Support the administration of the Regulatory Change Management Framework, logging regulatory developments and maintaining calendars.
  • Assist in preparation of dashboards, metrics, and reports for governance forums, ensuring accuracy and audit-readiness.
  • Provide coordination during regulator audits and independent reviews, including evidence collation, documentation management, and response tracking.
  • Deliver onboarding, training, and guidance to stakeholders on engagement tools and processes.
  • Promote consistency, transparency, and constructive regulator relationships across the organisation.

How can you support the clean energy transition

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Business, Law, Risk, Policy or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in compliance, audit coordination, or regulatory governance.
  • Working knowledge of regulatory engagement, compliance frameworks (e.g. CMS), and the 3LoD model.
  • Demonstrated experience in coordinating regulatory responses, audit activities, or compliance reporting.
  • Strong organisational skills with high attention to detail and ability to prioritise competing demands.
  • Exceptional communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with confidence working across all levels.
  • Proficiency in maintaining registers, trackers, and compliance systems (experience with Archer advantageous).
  • Relevant certifications in compliance or governance (e.g. GRCI, ICA) are desirable.
