About Us

Globally, energy markets are in transition to a net zero future and the entities within these markets are transforming their underlying business models to ensure that they stay relevant, sustainable and profitable. As one of Australia’s largest energy providers, we are proud of our purpose to lead and accelerate the clean energy transformation for all.

EnergyAustralia recognises the critical role that our Legal & Governance function will play in shaping the future of our business through this exciting period of transition and, as a result, we are looking to bolster the team with the addition of multiple new roles.  These positions provide an opportunity to join a high performing, inclusive, collaborative and highly regarded Legal & Governance team.

See below for our available positions:

Senior Legal Counsel (Product & Regulation) – You'll be supporting product and regulatory requirements for our retail business as well as innovative products and services (such as solar, battery, EVs) in our specialised business and commercial EV projects with our Green Transport business. We are also open to considering more junior candidates with relevant experience.

Legal Counsel (Regulation) – You will be supporting regulatory requirements for wholesale markets, Operations and Projects, and assist with trading matters. You'll provide legal expertise on one or more of the following: Energy specific laws and rules, laws and rules application to energy operations, AFSL and AML/CTF compliance matters.

How can you support the Clean Energy Transition

We value a collaborative approach, where your input will help shape key decisions across all areas of the business. If you’re looking to make a real impact and be part of a team that prioritises adding value and driving governance excellence, EnergyAustralia offers the perfect environment to grow your career.

We invite expressions of interest from individuals who have:

  • A degree in Law and a current practising certificate authorising practice in Victoria
  • Post qualification experience in a reputable Australian law firm or in-house
  • Flexibility to handle a diverse range of matters across business units
  • Strong communication skills and an ability to influence independent of hierarchy
  • Ability to effectively manage change and negotiate the right outcomes for the business

If you share our passion for a clean energy future for all and want to join us #Doing. Not just dreaming, then click the 'Apply’ button to submit your interest. For a more specific query, including position descriptions, please contact Hazel at hazel.lawson@energyaustralia.com.au
