About Us
Globally, energy markets are in transition to a net zero future and the entities within these markets are transforming their underlying business models to ensure that they stay relevant, sustainable and profitable. As one of Australia’s largest energy providers, we are proud of our purpose to lead and accelerate the clean energy transformation for all.

About the Team
The Customer Compliance Performance (CCP) team is undergoing significant transformation, creating exciting new opportunities to join at a pivotal time, where you will have the chance to make a meaningful impact. This team provides specialist compliance expertise to the Customer Business Unit, supporting effective compliance management and ensuring EnergyAustralia’s regulatory obligations, governance systems, processes, and frameworks meet both industry standards and customer expectations. And this is where you come in!

About the Role
We have an exciting opportunity to join the CCP Team as a Governance Specialist. This is more than a traditional governance role — it’s your chance to help shape how governance adds value across our Customer business. You’ll lead the development and continuous improvement of governance, risk, and compliance practices — not just maintaining frameworks, but also challenging and evolving them to better support the business. Working closely with leaders, Group Internal Audit, Enterprise Risk and Internal Controls, you’ll drive oversight of audit actions, risk treatments, and remediation activities, and ensure clear, effective governance processes are in place and used to share information and facilitate effective decision making. Key responsibilities include:

  • Define and shape governance practices that are fit-for-purpose and business-led
  • Maintain and improve policies, procedures, templates, and governance documentation
  • Track, monitor, and report on audit actions, compliance treatments, and remediation progress
  • Lead relationships with Enterprise Risk, Group Internal Audit, and Internal Control teams to drive consistent, effective outcomes
  • Execute key governance and compliance reporting processes, with a focus on clarity, insight, and action
  • Identify opportunities to streamline, uplift or embed governance more effectively into day-to-day business operations

About You
You’re a strategic thinker with a practical mindset — someone who sees the value in good governance but also knows it must work for the business. You bring experience in governance, risk, compliance, or audit or process improvement or continuous improvement in a complex organisation and are motivated by the opportunity to help build and shape the function. Other things we'd love to see:

  • A proven track record managing governance frameworks, risk registers, and compliance reporting
  • Experience supporting internal and external audit processes and driving remediation outcomes
  • A strong ability to assess what governance adds value — and where it needs to evolve
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with an eye for detail and a bias for action
  • Organisational agility and the ability to navigate multiple stakeholders and priorities

Why Us?
We’re committed to providing an inclusive culture so our people can bring their whole selves to work and have a sense of belonging. From our PRISM network that creates a positive culture for LGBTI employees to our Reconciliation Action Plan that has commitments to strengthen relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and organisations, it’s a workplace where everyone’s welcome.  We offer;

  • Balance Life and Work through our Flexible Ways of Working
  • Discounts on your energy bills for you, your friends and family
  • Recharge and relax with two extra days of leave each year (we call them recharge days)
  • Volunteer days off to help charities make a difference through volunteering
  • We offer 20 weeks paid parental leave that’s completely gender-equal
  • State-of-the-art Melbourne office, stunning views only 3–4-minute walk from Southern Cross station
