Join the Enterprise Risk Team at EnergyAustralia, where you will play a key role in shaping and executing a robust Enterprise Risk Management Policy and Procedures that align with the best practices of our Group Risk (CLP). As a member of this dynamic team, you will provide valuable risk insights and strategic advice to senior leaders, the Board, and other key stakeholders, helping to guide decision-making and ensuring a deep understanding of risk appetite and exposure. You will also have the opportunity to drive successful outcomes across the organisation by influencing key stakeholders and serving as a trusted advisor on all risk-related matters.

About the Role

As one of our Enterprise Risk Leads, you will be a crucial member of this team, offering risk insights and guidance to risk owners and stakeholders across the business. This role offers a unique chance to gain a comprehensive understanding of EnergyAustralia’s operations and systems, giving you exposure to all our Business Units while growing your career in a fast-paced, impactful environment.

  • Partnering with senior business leaders to provide risk management insight, understand risk appetite and grow business risk management capability.
  • Facilitate the risk assessment and Top-Tier Risk Reporting process across the business, including quality assurance review of reporting and reporting Top-Tier Risks to the Risk Committees monthly.
  • Accountability for conducting operational risk & control assessment workshops as required.
  • Supporting business units and the respective Risk Management Committees by maintaining, or providing access to, expertise in a broad range of risk management and monitoring disciplines.
  • Identify emerging risk and share this insight with risk owners.
  • Conduct independent project reviews and project risk assessments as required.
  • Monitor the effectiveness of risk management activities through reporting, advising managers on the severity and management of risks and independently monitor and report compliance with the EA Risk Management Policy and Procedures
  • Work collaboratively with the broader Finance team and other Business Unit stakeholders, including other second and third line of defense teams to ensure effective risk management outcomes for our business.

How can you support the Clean Energy Transition

To be successful in this role, you will ideally have the following:  

  • Tertiary qualifications in Commercial, Engineering or another relevant degree
  • Experience in the execution of an Enterprise Risk Management and design of internal controls frameworks.
  • Well-developed communications skills, both written and verbal.
  • Minimum 5+ years in either Energy, Oil and Gas, mining or large infrastructure risk, audit or compliance environment.
  • The ability to influence and engage a diverse range of stakeholders in a variety of business issues.
  • Demonstrated commitment to maintaining an appreciation of innovations in the risk management area.
