The Opportunity

We are seeking a knowledgeable and passionate contracts professional, with deep experience across C&I/Wholesale markets, to take on this newly created role of C&I Contracts Leader – Renewable Energy.

This role will play a critical part in our transition by developing and delivering cost-effective renewable energy solutions for C&I customers, helping them meet their sustainability goals.

By securing renewable energy offtake agreements with C&I customers, this will also enable EnergyAustralia to continue to invest in renewables for our future portfolio.

Key Responsibilities

• Identify, develop, and maintain a pipeline of C&I customers, including data centres, seeking renewable energy products, and/or firming solutions for their renewable off-takes
• Design and deliver tailored energy solutions including conceptual, operational, and financial products that meet the needs of C&I customers
• Lead and respond to renewable energy tenders and customer enquiries, and complete market exploration surveys
• Manage internal governance processes to secure necessary approvals for proposed products and offtakes
• Drive effective and timely delivery of workstream outcomes, ensuring alignment with broader project and strategic business objectives
• Collaborate with stakeholders across the business to ensure required capabilities, processes and technologies are established across EA’s business units to support the delivery and management of contracted products.
• Develop and manage strong and collaborative relationships across Customer, Operations, Trading & Transition units to enable successful delivery outcomes.

About You

You are a seasoned Contract Lead, a proven track record working within C&I and Wholesale Energy Markets,  developing and executing innovative structured deals.

You will bring the following qualifications, skills, and experience:

• Tertiary qualifications (or equivalent) in Business, Finance, Engineering
• Proven experience in developing, marketing, and delivering customer centric renewable energy products and partnerships within the Energy Industry 
• Strong commercial and strategic understanding of the energy industry, including value drivers, distributed energy, wholesale electricity markets, renewable products, network pricing, and retail customer products and services
• Knowledge of Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) and their operation in the National Electricity Market
• Excellent stakeholder engagement skills, within companies and external markets
