About the role

The Market Analyst role will support the electricity, gas and renewable trading teams with analysis and insights, and will primarily be responsible for managing the operation and development our short-term electricity market modelling in Plexos, working closely with Electricity Trading to model participant behaviour and draw market insights.

This role will also undertake general analysis across the electricity, gas and renewable energy wholesale markets to support trading decision-making and strategic regulatory and policy decisions, utilising publicly available data regarding the wholesale energy and renewable markets.

About you

• Demonstrated analytical or commercial experience in the energy sector
• Knowledge of electricity and gas wholesale markets
• Experience in operating complex modelling applications and handling large data sets
• Experience in using Plexos would be highly desirable
• Strong skills in Tableau, SQL, VBA and Excel
• Proven solving capability, conceptual thinker and ability to communicate findings clearly
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, having the ability to speak to both technical and non-technical stakeholder groups
