About Us

Globally, energy markets are in transition to a net zero future and the entities within these markets are transforming their underlying business models to ensure that they stay relevant, sustainable and profitable. As one of Australia’s largest energy providers, we are proud of our purpose to lead and accelerate the clean energy transformation for all.

Our ability to deliver on this Purpose will be dependent on our people. At EnergyAustralia, our Technology and Enterprise Commercial Finance team partners with the business to maximise the value of our resources. From setting annual targets and building robust financial plans to delivering insights that shape strategic decisions, we play a critical role in driving performance and supporting transformational change.

As part of our transformation, we are looking for a self-motivated, commercially minded finance professional to assist with planning, forecasting, and reporting for over $300 million in operational expenditure across our Technology and Enterprise business units—including Technology, People & Culture, Finance, Legal & Governance, and Corporate Affairs. You’ll be the go-to contact for opex-related queries and requests from our stakeholders.

About the Role (24 Month FTC)

This role is central to our broader transformation journey. You’ll support the execution of key initiatives within Finance and help validate and track benefits across the enterprise, contributing to the success of one of EnergyAustralia’s most important programs.

  • Provide financial advice and insights to stakeholders in the Enterprise business units.
  • Produce monthly forecasts and ad hoc scenario analysis to proactively guide business decisions and direction
  • Work with the business units to establish annual budgets and monthly forecasts with key assumptions rationalised, clearly articulated and endorsed by business owners
  • Communicate and develop rapport with key stakeholders across the Technology Enterprise business units and Finance team.
  • Review and validate benefits for transformation initiatives in the Technology and Enterprise Business Units.
  • Analyse Business Unit OPEX data to proactively contribute ideas to the Transformation pipeline

How can you support the Clean Energy Transition

To be successful in this role, you will ideally have the following attributes:

  • Tertiary qualifications in accounting, finance, economics or another relevant quantitative degree (minimum)
  • Post graduate qualifications in accounting and/or finance holding current CA/CPA qualifications
  • Minimum of 6+ experience preferably within an energy, resources, utilities or Big 4 environment.
  • High degree of commercial acumen
  • Ability to influence business stakeholders
  • High level conceptual and analytical skills
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Sound knowledge of financial systems (S4HANA, SAP AFO desirable, not essential)
