About the role:

EnergyAustralia is currently undergoing a major transformation in all aspects of our data and digital environments. As a result of this we have established a “Data and Analytics Office” and it is this team that will take a lead role in how we develop and deliver a best-in-class Analytics capability. Reporting to the Lead Data Engineer we are seeking an experienced Data Solutions Design Lead who will be an integral part of this transformation.

What we’re looking for:

  • Strong Experience in  data engineering technologies including Structured Query Language (SQL), Application Programming Interfaces (APIs), Apache Spark and Python.
  • Demonstrated ability to technically lead engineering teams and drive outcomes and deliveries in a complex enterprise environment
  • Strong experience in designing and building data and analytics solution on AWS or any other public cloud platforms e.g. Databricks
  • Bachelor or Masters degree on IT or Computer Science 
  • Deep technical understanding of data workflows including:
    • Data Ingestion from different platforms
    • Batch and stream processing using apache spark framework
    • Storage and archiving on cloud platforms
    • Machine learning (Desirable)
    • Problem solving and debugging skills"
  • Expert level written and verbal communication in both general and technology-specific applications
  • Skilled on cloud data architectures and Big Data Analytics in AWS Stack (Athena, Glue, Kinesis, Data pipeline, Step functions, Lambda, EMR, S3, DynamoDB, Postgres).
  • Solid hands-on experience on advanced SQL techniques on cloud data warehouse technologies e.g. Redshift, snowflake etc
  • Experience implementing a DataOps framework and with CI/CD highly preferred
