The energy industry is undergoing a radical change and at EnergyAustralia, as part of the NextGen team, our ongoing team commitment to is to build and manage strategic relationships with regulators, distribution network partners and other key industry participants. In this way we can support our Business and NextGen teams to deliver outstanding services.

About the role

Our Industry Regulation Advisors build and manage strategic relationships with AEMO, distribution network partners, and other key industry participants. They act as a conduit between EA & Energy Participants.

The position supports an optimal outcome for EnergyAustralia through representation and participation in industry forums and advocacy of preferred business positions in relation to market development and managing and leading escalated disputes with network partners.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Participate in industry consultation processes, attend working groups, and draft written submissions to various regulators and industry groups. 
  • Act as a conduit between EA & Energy Participants to establish and maintain strong partnerships.
  • Support the development of AEMO policy positions, strategies, and approaches to deliver optimal regulatory or industry outcomes for the business.
  • Lead and manage escalated disputes with Network partners.

What we’re looking for

Our ideal candidate for this role will come from a regulatory role within Utilities or Finance. You will also have an open mindset, willingness to learn, and a true customer-led way of working. A willingness to roll up your sleeves and work as a true team member to get the job done is essential. The tasks that you will need to cover are not always the same so you will need to be able to prioritise tasks, focus on business value and be passionate in advocating for EnergyAustralia and our customers.

Strong knowledge of the energy industry and a structured approach in business writing and preparing reports, along with your understanding of energy industry policy/regulations within Australia will make you an ideal candidate.
