Apprentices - Mt Piper Power Station

The roles

We are looking for a number of apprentices to commence their 4 year apprenticeships in early 2020 at Mount Piper Power Station, in the following trades:

  • Mechanical Fitter
  • Electrician

During this period, you will rotate through the power station maintenance teams, completing trade training through both school and site based work.

You will be fortunate to learn to perform a range of repairs, installations, maintenance and fitting on plant, equipment and machinery within the Power Station utilising hand and power tools.

Work and development is done under the strict guidance of qualified trade employees, and includes modules of learning through an accredited external provider.

What are we looking for?

  • Year 12 or equivalent qualification is preferred but not essential.
  • Demonstrated ability to problem solve
  • A technical aptitude
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • OHS Construction Induction or a willingness to obtain it
  • A positive attitude and strong work ethic
  • A commitment to undertake and complete formal training at TAFE
  • Demonstrated safety awareness and practical aptitude
