Five Opportunities Available
Successful Power Worker applicants will undertake a structured training component on day work, followed by on-the-job training in bunker and ashing. Additional training in the operation of the coal plant panel will conclude the training period. Following initial training the successful applicants will be required to work on-shift to meet business requirements.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
The Power Worker provides a range of key day to day operational support services which facilitate the effective planning and execution of related Power Station plant activities, including monitoring fuel delivery area, conducting plant checks, routine inspections and operation of the Coal Plant from the DCS. The Power Worker will also assume duties in the role of Authorised Issuing Officer as required.
Pre-requisites and Remuneration
Applicants will need to be willing to undergo testing to ensure they are physically capable of performing the duties of the Power Worker. Applicants must also possess an aptitude to operate screen-based controls and other technologies and equipment used in the role.
Applicants must have the aptitude and drive to be competent to perform the duties of the Unit Attendant role within the next ranks of operations. This will likely be assessed by an on-site aptitude test likely to be conducted in late February/Early March.
Successful applicants will be paid commensurate with the role of Power Worker and attract applicable allowances during and after the training period. Applicants must be available to work 12-hour shift work on weekdays and weekends as per the roster.
Prior heavy industry experience would be highly desirable.
